The Role:

We are looking to recruit an experienced HR Manager to join our management team. This is a new dedicated role within Turnkey and as such has the opportunity to be shaped and driven by someone who can develop the HR function to align to the evolving business strategy. Based at our office in East Kilbride, Glasgow, we expect this to be a part time (3 days per week) role initially with the opportunity for it to increase to full time depending on the needs of the business and the evolution of the HR function. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the role will focus on both strategic and operational HR matters.

Specifically, the role will be focused on the following:

  • Liaising with the Turnkey Payroll third party partner for ongoing adjustment to salary
  • Quality assuring the overall performance management process, assisting line managers with goal setting, providing feedback, managing challenging conversations and generally driving improved engagement with staff
  • Supporting career planning and learning / development for staff
  • Managing moderation meetings annually
  • Managing the current HR site and ongoing maintenance of employee records
  • Conducting Salary benchmarking and shaping annual pay review process
  • Supporting resource planning and budgeting
  • Managing the selection of a new HR system and its implementation
  • Assisting with holiday calculations, maternity pay, any statutory requirements that require modification to contracts
  • Keeping HR policies up to date
  • Generating new staff contracts
  • Managing all recruitment processes including interviewing / screening CV’s and dealing with recruitment agents
  • Managing benefits and third party providers (health and wellbeing, AXA, pension)
  • Providing HR induction for new staff
  • Liaising with Offshoring partner – this is a new route to recruitment/resourcing which is in its infancy
  • Supporting line managers with daily staff issues / queries
  • Monitoring absence / sickness
  • Conducting any disciplinary actions
  • Ensure general HR and legal compliance
  • Maintaining relationships with external HR legal counsel
  • Responsibility for the HR Annex within ISO procedures to ensure we are compliant with agreed policies and controls

Key skills and attributes:

  • Prior working experience (at least 5 years) in an HR role
  • A formal HR qualification
  • Sound knowledge of HR policy setting and best practice guidance
  • A clear, concise ability to write in plain English
  • Can hold robust conversations at all levels in the organisation
  • Be organised, innovative and deadline driven
  • A strong communicator and enthusiastic
  • A confident facilitator, with the ability to manage both virtual and face to face training sessions
  • A highly motivated self-starter who is used to a fast paced working environment and can “spin many plates”
